Dr Reza Amirtouri is a specialist primary care Practitioner with specialist recognition from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and recognised extended clinical skills in dermatology and skin cancer.
Reza brings extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of skin cancers and dermatological conditions, gained through years of work in both primary care and specialist settings. With a diverse background of working across different areas of general practice, he approaches patient care with a holistic view of overall health. He is a strong advocate for preventative medicine, early intervention, and the timely detection of skin malignancies and other skin conditions to achieve the best treatment outcomes.
Reza completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2011 and has been actively practising in primary care dermatology and skin cancer since 2015. He holds a Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) with Recognition of Extended Skills in Dermatology (RES).
He has completed an Advanced Clinical Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, an Advanced Certificate of Dermoscopy with Skin Cancer College Australasia, a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery with the University of Queensland, and an Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery Certificate from Health Cert Bond University. He is also a member of the Skin Cancer College Australia, the International Society of Dermoscopy, and the Primary Care Dermatology Society(UK).
Reza is actively involved in research and has undertaken quality improvement projects within the Dermatology Department at Barwon Health. He recently published a dermatology case report in the Australian Journal of General Practice and is an honorary attendee of the Dermatology Department at University Hospital Geelong.
He also enjoys teaching and currently lectures in primary care dermatology with the Department of General Practice at the University of Melbourne.
Outside of work, Reza shares a love of psychology with his wife, Sima, who is a psychologist and loves spending time with their daughters, Nora and Hannah.
